Please submit before January 31st, 2012

IndiaFEST 2012 Committee and Palm Beach India Association are sponsoring an essay contest to promote an awareness of India’s rich cultural heritage. The essay contest is open to students of South Florida schools.

Essay topic:
The students are asked to write an essay on the question described below in accordance to the current year of school they are in attendance.  

     
     

Submission guidelines
     
Categories :  

1. Students in grades 1 through 5
2. Students in grades 6 through 8
3. Students in grades 9 through 12
 

Essay length :

1. Students in grades 1 through 5
Entries must contain  up to 500 words

2. Students in grades 6 through 8
Entries must contain  up to 750 words

3. Students in grades 9 through 12
Entries must contain  up to 1000 words

 

Submission dead-line :

Midnight, January 31st, 2012

Submission emailed to :

Criteria : Essays evaluated on content (70%), style (20%), and grammar (10%).
Judging :

Committee comprised of school teachers

Winners : Winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded on February 18th at IndiaFEST 2012, Meyer Amphitheater
     
 

 

 Category 1 : Elementary SCHOOL (Grades 1 through 5)

1)  What's my favorite holiday?
2)  Why I like my parents so much.

The prizes are as follows:

 Category 2 : MIDDLE SCHOOL (Grades 6 through 8)

2) What are the the struggles of Young Indian American?
